Cookbooks

How helpful is it really, to store all this food, if you don't know how to cook it? Survival food often requires different cooking methods, based on things like water, time, and potentially different ingredients. Be sure you know how to cook your food, as well as have a variety of recipes, with a few cookbooks to help you along your way.

If you want to learn how to cook using a solar oven or some other solar means, you also should strongly consider a cookbook. Solar ovens are amazing devices, not requiring electricity or any sort of power to get hot enough to cook your chicken or bake your bread. However, it is a different way to cook: temperatures may vary, the area you're working with is smaller, etc. Solar cookbooks also could be very useful.
